On Crimewatch Tonight

Have you seen these two men in the Vancouver area. Both are suspected car thieves hailing from the east end of London. These pictures clearly show them scoping out a fancy car in the Davie Street area. If you do see them, please don't approach as they may become violent. Call the police and wait in a safe place. You have been warned.

Congratulations Chris and Debs

Over the weekend Chris took Debs to New York and proposed. I would like to be the first person to officially congratulate them on the blog and wish them many years of happiness.

Its easy to see why Debs couldn't say no

Where I work

Here is a shot in sunnier days of my place of work. Further down this road is where the infamous shooting incident took place. There are also a couple of shots from the sea bus of North Vancouver where I have to travel to work everyday. The novelty of riding the sea bus soon wears off.

Forgot again.....

Well its approaching Christmas and its finally started to rain again. After weeks that consisted of snow, cold and ice, the rain has finally hit back. Its not too heavy though but is still quite annoying. Good news is that I break up from work on Friday and don't go back till the 3rd of January. Now I've just got to find something to do or somewhere to go for that week.

I've forgot to bring my disk in so pictures will have to wait another day. Nothing much to report, been out here and there, I really need to start doing some sightseeing before I leave which is now apporaching 9 months. Going round to Chris, Debs, Simons and Andrews on Christmas day, there should be about 15 of us so I won't get lonely. Also done a secret santa, so I will get a present although the limit was $5 or 2 pounds 50. Here are a couple of pictures from Simon's 22nd birthday which contain me.

Andy, yes I do hang out with him from time to time

Ian hogging the picture yet again. Once again taking the limelight from everyone else.

Andrew Keen - Homeless Man

Here are a couple of pictures of Andrew whilst staying at my house. This was back when he was still at the hostel and I know how much he loves these pictures.

Will someone buy that man a coffee

All By Myself

Due to uncontrollable circumstances at work, with Susie and Nancie being in LA meeting with the big Hollywood executives and Mark having to stay at home and look after his sick daughter I find myself alone at work.

That's right. I am by myself all day. Me who has been here a little over a month has been left in charge of the office with some work to do. When will they learn. Saying that, its not like I have anything of great difficulty to do. All I've got left to do is check in one more delivery, answer the phone if it rings and then settle down for an afternoon of TV watching to make sure theres enough space on the Tivo to record whatsever on tonight. Also been mucking around on the internet and checked out some of Andy's blogs before he came to Canada. I'd have never thought he was thinking of joining the armed forces. Just think Andy, why be in Vancouver when you could be out in the middle east. At least you'd be warm.

Before my mass picture posting sometime next week here are 2 more pics I've stolen from Ian. They were at Ian and Andy's playing Jenga knock off Tumbling Tower. Having lost the first game I was determined not to lose the second and pulled off a brilliant move to keep myself in the game. Chris went onto lose when attempting to pull out the single block on the very bottom, ala the table cloth trick. It didn't work.

Oh no, its going to be my go again soon

4 Televisions and a Near Funeral

So what's been happening since my last post. I got to do the ultimate film studio activity last monday when I got to ride around in a golf buggy. But intsead of it being a warm sunny Hollywood afternoon it was a freezing cold Vancouver morning. Other recent activities have included Chris and Debs 21st(so young) birthdays and the Friday just gone it was Simon's 22nd (still young). Its going to be strange this Friday not going out for someone's birthday. We'll just have to find a party and gatecrash it.

Now I've also had a few problem trying to get a working television this week. I bought one from Future Shop last week, got it home and discovered the reception on it was rubbish and you could barely watch it. Normally you would contact the cable company to fix it but seeing as we get free cable I didn't see this as a wise move. Pete's TV worked fine as well so I thought I'd just take it back and get another. So last Thursday I took it back and got a refund, went to Canadian Tire and bought another one. It was the last box for that particular TV and looked a bit beat up but I gambled and took the risk. After another journey on the bus getting it home I eagerly plugged it in and found the picture quality was fine. A huge sigh of relief. But....

Where's that buzzing sound coming from. Yes, that's why its probably the last TV on the shelf as even when the volume is switched off all you can hear is this loud humming noise. So, Saturday morning and back to Canadian Tire where I exchange it for a slightly more expensive one. After getting it off the bus and almost destroying one of the buses fans in the process I plug it in at home and can happily report that everything is working fine. With my 5inch black and white TV/radio combo I have now owned 4 televisions since being in Canada.

Coming home from work one day a car came around the corner as I was crossing the road and wasn;t far from hitting me. Hardly a near funeral but I liked the title for this blog entry. I'm going to copy all my pictures onto CD soon at work so I can just bung them on without having to find a USB port for my camera. Until then here's a picture I've stolen off Ian's blog from Chris and Debs 21st at the Old Spaghetti Factory in Gastown.
