England march on...
We've just had a long weekend here due to it being Canada day on Saturday. And on top of 3 days off work we also had the joy of witnessing England's stunning victory over Portugal. We watched the game at the Rio Cinema (yes, a proper cinema) with a mixture of Portuguese and English supporters. I don't think any of us have had a better experience in our life than watching England put in the greatest ever performance seen on a football field.
Six goals scored and complete domination. How we cheered when Peter Crouch completed his hat trick with an overhead kick from the edge of the box in the 90th minute. Even Gavin stood up at the end and gave England a standing ovation. After the game had finished we still had 3 days to celebrate. What a weekend.
Never forget this place people. It was here you witnessed Theo Walcott's first England goal. A mazy run from the half way line before chipping the goaly. Beautiful
You should have seen how happy we were after the game. It was crazy
To celebrate we spent the rest of thr day at the beach. En-Ger-land
This is the sort of image David Beckham would have thought of to calm himself before curling that free kick into the top corner
As beautiful as Wayne Rooney's 40 yard volley
The party went on all night. I imagine it was the same in England
Sunday morning and afternoon was more of a lazy affair. It was time to reflect on what we had witnessed yesterday and just think to ourselves how lucky we were. In the evening we went to see Superman Returns. It was a good film, yet we'd all seen 11 superheroes the day before.
On Holiday Monday we hired a motor boat from Granville Island and after about a 5 hour wait we managed to get one. That time did give us chance to discuss Joe Cole's outrageous back heel.
This time next week we could be World Champions
Captain Gav inspired by Sven's great leadership
I'd hate to be Potuguese now
No need to hold on Ian, there's no penalty shootout to worry about this time
Laura looking as relaxed as Paul Robinson. He probably had an easier day against Portugal
Can't wait for France v England tomorrow
Passage Island. A giant rock, just like John Terry in defense
Driving a boat on a sunny day, England in the world cup semi final, does life get any better
It's going to be so exciting
I think England will beat France 4-0
A gas station. Reminds me of Frank Lampard, never stopped running
Well I better go and get some sleep, excited about the game tomorrow. Just check what time it's on. That's funny it says France are playing Portugal. Must be a misprint. No it says Portugal on another website as well. Hang on a minute, why I have got the image of Jamie Carragher taking a penalty in my head.....
Nnnnnnnnnnooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
